Compare with your own history

Compatible recent sleep, heart and optional vital evidence is compared with personal baselines rather than population cut-offs.

Treat 50 as personal baseline

Approximately 50 means around your recent baseline - not automatically poor Recovery.

Keep absence honest

Required missing evidence can withhold a result. Missing optional respiratory-rate or wrist-temperature evidence reduces coverage and confidence rather than becoming zero.

Physiological stress

A discrete estimate built around eligible HRV evidence, strengthened by compatible nearby heart rate when available, with confidence reported separately.

Discrete HRV-first windows

Each eligible estimate begins with HRV compared with compatible personal history. It is timestamped rather than described as live.

Nearby heart rate can help

Context-valid nearby heart rate can strengthen the estimate when enough compatible evidence is available, but it remains optional.

Unsuitable context becomes a gap

Active, workout, post-workout, sleeping and uncertain windows can become explicit gaps instead of a fabricated neutral score.

Confidence is separate

Confidence describes evidence quality and maturity. It does not say whether a physiological-stress score is good or bad.

04 · Confidence, freshness and gaps

The score is never the whole answer.

Calibration
Enough compatible personal history to support an individual comparison. Fourteen compatible valid historical days are required; calendar time may be longer.
Freshness
The age of the newest evidence that materially supports an estimate. Stress evidence is fresh through four hours, aging through eight, then stale.
Confidence
A separate indication of evidence coverage, baseline maturity, context and compatibility - not a second wellness score.
Personal baseline
A comparison with compatible recent evidence from the same person, without treating a generic population threshold as the primary model.
