What is BodyReserve?
BodyReserve is a focused iPhone and Apple Watch wellness app that brings Energy Reserve, Morning Recovery and discrete physiological-stress estimates together and keeps the reasons behind them visible.
Why does BodyReserve focus on energy, Recovery and stress?
BodyReserve is built to answer one question well: how much your body appears to have in reserve, and what evidence shaped that estimate. A narrower scope keeps the experience calmer and the explanation close to the score.
How is BodyReserve different from an all-in-one fitness app?
BodyReserve does not try to be a coaching feed, calorie tracker, social network or general training dashboard. It concentrates on one explainable view of energy, Recovery and physiological stress.
Can I import scores from or compare BodyReserve with another app?
No competitor-score import or direct comparison feature is planned for version 1. BodyReserve uses compatible evidence in Apple Health and its own documented models.
Is BodyReserve the same as Garmin Body Battery?
No. BodyReserve is an independent product for the Apple ecosystem and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Garmin. Energy Reserve uses BodyReserve’s own model, design and explanations.
What does Energy Reserve mean?Draft
Energy Reserve is an experimental 0–100 estimate of available physiological capacity. It connects recovery, activity, workouts, physiological load and evidence gaps so the number can be understood in the context of the day.
Scores and algorithms
What does a Recovery score of 50 mean?
Approximately 50 means around your own recent baseline. It is not automatically poor, unhealthy or a population comparison.
How is Recovery calculated?Draft
Recovery compares compatible recent evidence from HRV, overnight or fallback resting heart rate, sleep duration, sleep timing, respiratory rate and sleeping wrist temperature with personal baselines. Required missing evidence can withhold a score; missing optional vitals reduce coverage and confidence rather than becoming zero.
How is physiological stress calculated?Draft
The experimental estimator starts with eligible HRV evidence relative to a compatible personal baseline. Nearby context-valid heart rate can strengthen it. Source compatibility, time of day, context and confidence determine whether a discrete estimate can be shown.
Is stress measured continuously?
No. Apple Health evidence is periodic, and BodyReserve produces discrete timestamped estimates only when a window is eligible. It is not live or continuous monitoring.
Why are there gaps in the stress history?
Workout, post-workout, sleeping, active or uncertain windows can be unsuitable for interpretation. Immature baselines, stale inputs, incompatible sources and low confidence can also create an explicit gap instead of a fabricated neutral value.
What does confidence mean?
Confidence describes how strongly a result is supported by recent, relevant and compatible evidence. It is separate from whether a 0–100 score is high or low.
Why can a score be stale?
A score can remain the last valid result while newer usable evidence is unavailable. BodyReserve shows the evidence time and stale state rather than making an old estimate appear current.
Is BodyReserve a medical app?
No. BodyReserve is intended for general wellness insight. Its estimates are not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
Does BodyReserve diagnose illness, anxiety or burnout?
No. A physiological-stress estimate does not determine an emotional cause and cannot diagnose illness, anxiety, burnout or another condition.
Apple Watch and Apple Health
Is an Apple Watch required?Draft
BodyReserve is designed around health evidence collected by Apple Watch and a glanceable Watch experience paired with full detail on iPhone. Final hardware requirements will be confirmed before release.
Is overnight Watch wear required?Draft
Overnight wear provides the compatible sleep and heart evidence used by Recovery. Missing nights can extend calibration or prevent a result.
Does it write to Apple Health?
No. BodyReserve requests read access only and does not create, change or delete Apple Health samples.
Calibration and missing data
Why does BodyReserve need calibration?
Recovery and physiological-stress estimates compare current evidence with compatible personal history. Calibration establishes enough of that recent history to make an individual comparison instead of relying on a generic population threshold.
Why might calibration take longer than 14 calendar days?
BodyReserve requires 14 compatible valid historical days, not simply 14 dates since installation. Missing, unreadable, source-incompatible or context-ineligible days do not count, so calendar time can be longer.
What happens when optional data is unavailable?
Absence is not converted to zero. In Recovery, missing optional respiratory-rate or wrist-temperature evidence has no direct score penalty but reduces coverage and confidence. Optional heart rate in the stress model can be omitted under its documented confidence rules.
What does a provisional result mean?Draft
A provisional result has some useful evidence behind it but not enough mature, compatible history to present it without qualification. BodyReserve keeps that state visible instead of presenting provisional evidence as fully established.
Privacy
Does BodyReserve upload health information?Draft
BodyReserve is designed to calculate its wellness estimates on your devices without a backend health-data upload. This pre-release architecture will be checked against the shipping app and final App Store privacy disclosures.
Is an account required?Draft
No account is planned for the core BodyReserve experience. The final shipping behavior will be verified before launch.
Does BodyReserve use advertising or health-data tracking?Draft
No advertising, remote analytics, tracking or sale of health information is included in the version 1 architecture.
Is health information sent to a remote AI service?Draft
No. Remote AI processing and AI coaching are outside the version 1 architecture. BodyReserve’s wellness calculations are designed to happen on the user’s devices.
What happens if I revoke Apple Health access?
Affected evidence may become unavailable, calibration may stop progressing, confidence may fall or the safest result may be insufficient data. Revocation does not cause missing measurements to be treated as zero.
Pricing and purchase
Will BodyReserve require a subscription?
No. The core BodyReserve app is a one-time purchase with no auto-renewable subscription.
What does the one-time purchase include?
The purchased core includes Energy Reserve, Morning Recovery, physiological stress, confidence, freshness and the core iPhone and Apple Watch experience included with the released product.
Could purchased core features later move behind a subscription?
No. Core features purchased once remain unlocked. This promise applies to the core features included with the purchased product rather than guaranteeing every future product or service at no additional cost.
Could BodyReserve offer a paid service in the future?
An optional future service with genuine ongoing costs may be offered separately. It will not be required to keep using the core features already purchased.
What will it cost?Draft
Not finalized yet.
Can I try it before buying?Draft

Support and compatibility
Which iPhone and Apple Watch versions are supported?Draft
Not finalized yet. iOS 17 and watchOS 10 are current deployment floors, but the public compatibility statement will follow a completed device and operating-system test matrix.
